Alcee Hastings is a member of the House of Representatives from Florida. A Democrat, Hastings had served as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida .
So why am I drawing attention to this gentleman, well listen to this NBC clip where Hastings adds to the impeachment decision:
Now, lets check this guys credibility rating, and ask the burning question why he is still in politics.

In my opinion (or IMO), I think Hastings when referring to ‘distractions’, is actually talking about how the Republicans continue to probe Joe Biden’s son Hunter working in Ukraine while Joe was Vice-President.
The Republicans claim there is irrefutable evidence to support this, where the Trump Impeachment is based on some people ‘hearing’ what someone else said, or ‘assuming’ what someone overheard what someone else said.
