Thousands of workers were forced into self-isolation after coming into close contact with COVID-19-infected persons, leaving shelves at major grocery chains empty.
Major supermarkets have begun a hiring spree in order to replenish workers at stores and warehouses affected by COVID layoffs and isolation. Workers from hotspots who haven’t had the vaccine by September 19 will be unable to leave the house, sparking fears of bare supermarket shelves in numerous suburbs.
